April Messe in Sevilla - Feria de Abril

El Alumbrao

Der gefeierte und offizielle Eröffungsakt der Feria de Abril ist „el Alumbrao“ (die Beleuchtung), die jährlich mit der Erleutung von einer halben Million von Lampions und Glühbirnen beginnt, die meisten befinden sich beim Portal.
Die Feria beginnt offiziell am Montag um Mitternacht, gewöhnlicherweise 2 Wochen nach der Karwoche und endet mit einem spektakulären Feuerwerk, das am folgenden Sonntag von 21 Uhr bis Mitternacht abgebrannt wird.

Die Feria, wo sich die natürliche Schönheit der sevillanischen Mädchen und Frauen durch die Flamencotrachten hevorhebt, ist ein ideales Umfeld der Herzlichkeit und Freundschaft mit Manzanillawein, diversen Tapas und natürlich dem Singen und Tanzen der Sevillanas.
Doch der eigentliche Grund, warum man auf dieses Fest geht, ist ganz einfach um Spass zu haben und im Kreis von Freunden das Fest zu geniessen.

About the casetas of Seville's april Fair

The "casetas" are made of a metal base and then covered with a green or red pin-striped canvas, each stripe about 10 cm. wide. At the outside of the tent you will find banisters and little triangle-shaped flags. The flags crown the facade of the tent with a baroque style, and sometimes show the casetas' name or logo. Also required are striped curtains at the entrance with a small canvas roof.

The inside of the tents are divided into three parts, usually separated by curtains. The first is the noble part which can not have advertising and is usually decorated by the tenants. The decoration should camouflage the second part. The floor is generally made of wooden planks. In the noble part a floor is set up suited for dancing.
